Why extract audio from a video
Meeting recordings, webinars and lecture videos usually get saved as full MP4 files, but if you only ever go back to listen, the audio alone is often all you need. Pulling out just the audio as MP3 shrinks the file dramatically and gives you something you can use directly as podcast-style audio.

How to use it
(1) The output format is already set to MP3 on this page. Drag and drop your MP4 file onto the drop zone, or click it to choose one. (2) Pick a bitrate (128 / 192 / 256 / 320kbps) — 128kbps is enough for spoken recordings. (3) Press 'Convert to MP3'; the video stream is automatically stripped out and only the audio is written as MP3. A download button appears once it finishes.

What happens to the picture, and multiple audio tracks
The picture is never included in the output — the result is always an audio file (MP3). If the video has more than one audio track (different languages, commentary, etc.), only the first one is used.
