1. Why convert MP4 to GIF

   Take the few seconds you most want to show from a phone-shot MP4 and turn it into a loopable GIF ready to drop into a chat or a post. A GIF auto-plays as a looping animation, which makes it easier to share than sending the raw video file.

2. How to use it

   (1) Drag and drop your MP4 file onto the drop zone, or click it to choose one. (2) Set a start time and a length in seconds (leave both blank to use the first 10 seconds automatically). (3) Pick a frame rate (10/15/24fps) and a width (320/480/640px) — around 480px width at 15fps balances quality and file size well for social posts. (4) Press 'Convert to GIF'; processing runs in two stages — palette analysis, then GIF export — and a preview plus a download button appear once it finishes.

3. No sound, and there's a length limit

   GIF simply can't store audio, so sound is always dropped. File size also grows quickly with length, frame rate and width, so exports are capped at 30 seconds (with a warning shown for anything past 10 seconds).
